The Breast Cancer Resource Center

https://www.ywcaprinceton.org

The Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) is a program of the non-profit YWCA Princeton, NJ, dedicated to providing information and support to those affected by breast cancer and increasing awareness in the community.

BCRC programs and services are provided free of charge and touch the lives of thousands of individuals in Mercer and surrounding counties while special efforts are made to reach out to minority/underserved communities.  Programs and services include Support Services, Wellness Programs and Information and Education.

BCRC relies solely on grants, private and corporate donations and fundraising and on volunteers to ensure the success of many of the programs and services they provide.

The Machestic Dragons and the BCRC established a partnership in 2005, in an effort to help increase awareness of the team “floating support group” and encourage breast cancer patients and survivors to become involved.  BCRC benefits a great deal from its partnership with our program as an annual beneficiary of the Machestic Dragon’s Paddle for Pink Dragon Boat Festival.

The Healing Consciousness Foundation (HCF) and Bucks County Breast Friends (BCBF)

The Healing Consciousness Foundation (HCF), a non-profit organization, was founded by nationally recognized breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Beth Baughman DuPree in 2007 after the publication of the first edition of her best seller, The Healing Consciousness: A Doctor’s Journey to Healing. Dr. DuPree believes that conventional Western medicine integrated with Eastern modalities helps one achieve the balance they need to begin the healing process.

The HCF provides certificates for free services/treatments by many practitioners that includes massage, reiki, acupuncture, cancer coaching, lymphedema therapy, etc……

The HCF has several support groups, including the Bucks County Breast Friends (BCBF) that were established to bring an amazing group of women together to discuss their feelings and experiences of breast cancer. They laugh, they cry, and, most importantly, they share their journeys without judgment in a loving, nurturing, and caring environment.
